COMPUTER VISION
AND
IMAGE UNDERSTANDING

an archival journal published by
Elsevier

Computer Vision and Image Understanding is the oldest and a most prestigious journal devoted to the dissemination of research in areas relevant to computer vision. Papers are published on all aspects of image analysis, from low-level processing, as in early vision, to high-level symbolic processing needed for recognition and interpretation. More specifically, the following topics are particularly central to what gets published in the journal:

While the emphasis is on the publication of original research papers, position papers expressing stimulating viewpoints and philosophies, survey papers, and bibliographies are also published. Submitted papers are evaluated by the editors and those judged as presenting potentially significant research contributions within the scope of the journal are formally reviewed. Suitability for publication is based on relevance to the overall CVIU editorial goals, originality, technical quality, importance, and readability.
